UMIBC Binocular Lending Program
The University of Manitoba Indigenous Birding Club has teamed up with UM Libraries to start a binocular lending program. We have three pairs of high-quality Nikon P7S binoculars that you can borrow from the library to make birding more accessible for everyone.

If you’re new to birding, left your binoculars at home, or just want to try it out, this program is for you! You can borrow the binoculars for up to four days from the Science Reserves Kiosk just outside the Parker Building in the Armes Link (the hallway that connects the Armes building to the Buller, Parker, and Allen building). All you need is your student or staff card, or at least your 14-digit staff or student number.

For instructions on how to adjust and use the binoculars, visit the UM Indigenous Birding Club’s website (www.umindigenousbirdingclub.com). There is also a cleaning kit at the kiosk that you can use to clean the binoculars before returning them or just before taking them out. Please return the cleaning kit right after use so others can use it too.

If the program is successful, we plan to add more binoculars.

We are just starting out with this program and we would love to hear your feedback on how we can make it better. Please send your comments and suggestions to umindigenousbirdingclub@umantioba.ca.

Happy birding!
